The 35 best places to propose in Melbourne (2025)

Luna Park Melbourne is a historic amusement park located in St. Kilda, a vibrant beachside suburb in Melbourne. Since its opening in 1912, this enduring attraction has been captivating both locals and tourists with its blend of old-school charm and modern rides. The park's star attraction is the Great Scenic Railway, the world's oldest continually operating roller coaster, offering stunning views of Port Phillip Bay.

Must visit when you’re in Melbourne. Loved all the place. Also a great for local for a weekend activity. Loved all the games especially the ghost train. So scary and amazing. Loved the food as well. Very clean and safe place for children as well.

Luna Park's iconic facade is looking a bit aged these days, but there is still a lot of fun to be had inside the gates. We went to Luna Dark for Halloween and did the VIP Carnivale of Evil and it was so much fun- especially getting an hour of private access to the park before the crowds were allowed in. Lots of great photo ops, live music and roving characters but long line ups for rides.( And VIPs missed the costume competition - which we would have won!)

Small theme park with lots of rides, nice place to bring kids around 8-16years old. We only brought the 1 ride ticket and entrance on the day itself. Not too bad for a once off experience, but don’t expect anything like big theme parks.

In July of this year, I had by 21st birthday party in Luna Park's Stardust Room! Words cannot express how amazing the team was throughout the whole process, which took over a whole year of planning! The room was set out exactly how I had imagined and how I communicated it to Sean, every little detail was accounted for. I was even allowed to have a photo taken with my whole group in front of the carousel, how incredible! I want to specifically thank Sean for all of his help during the entire time from room set up options, to specific food choices for my guests, and Natalie for her fantastic service on the day. Sean, Natalie and the team on the day made this birthday the most memorable day, I will never stop talking about it.So again, thank you!

Was a good experience with the kids. Was invited for a kids' birthday party. The entire place looks run down. I haven't been since 2013 and so visiting this year seemed like not much has been done to uplift the place aesthetically. The rides were great and still is. Part of the place is under reno so it limits movement and crowds form really quickly.

A great fun experience or younger ones.Try come at opening times so the que lines aren't that long.Kids will love this place and the rides, but there isn't much thrill for older people or people looking for an adrenaline rush.Still it's a nice environment, staff are nice and helpful. There is a restaurant and Cafe, but expect to pay more than usual prices.

Lots of construction going on during our visit. Quite a lot of rides for the size of park, but quite small. Not much to do once you have been on all the rides. Fun day with varying levels of scary rides. Takes a while for rides to set of but you will feel very safe.

An old childhood favourite place of mine, I’ve always loved coming here over the years there’s lots of different rides & fun activities however it can get pretty busy all the time especially theschool holidays the ride lines are so packed that it takes atleast an hour wait, can say though it’s pretty fun when it’s not to packed & there’s even a little nice cafe to! guaranteed best & oldest attraction definitely recommend coming here with the family & kids! 🎡🎠🎟️I also recommend coming early to get in it can get pretty packed when buying the tickets.

Very small but fun theme park. All the staff were very relaxed and fun. You MUST get the unlimited rides pass as it is well worth your money, especially when it is not very busy. I highly recommend the enterprise ride with a friend, make sure they sit at the edge of the seat for extra fun, and the beetle ride. Never underestimate a kids ride, so much fun! 🤣

Visited Luna Park for the first time today with my partner and his son and it was great and really fun! We arrived early and got to go on 9 rides! My favourites were the Great Scenic Railway and the Power Surge and can’t believe the railway is over 100 years old! The views from the tall rides were amazing and I was surprised that the waiting times were fairly reasonable. And I was happy to get their cute fridge magnets too. :) Anyways, I highly recommend this fun park if you’re in Melbourne!

Still a very small theme park despite the renovations and the investment. If you're looking for a whole day, you'll probably get half a day here.Still very nostalgic and reminiscent of the old days but a lot of work for a full day park. I would recommend if you have time to go check out, come Gumbaya World if you're looking for a proper theme park

We all had heaps of fun, and all went on a decent amount of rides. We spent 4 hours there and didn't quite get to go on everything, so I'd suggest allowing a bit more time.Food/ice cream was reasonably priced.

Always a blast coming here! I wish the scenic railway (rollercoaster) would operate but most times its closed, which is a bummer. Other than that, the adult rides are so much fun, and $55 tickets is the best option to go. There's little food trucks you can buy snacks from as well. And tbh, $20 for one ride is not worth it at all when you could go unlimited for $55.

Fantastic place, great rides, food and games for all ages. Parking is pretty close. easy access for wheelchairs to go around but unfortunately very hard to play games as can’t get so close to play and rides are not suitable. overall it was still fun 🤩

A fun day out with the kids. Queues were quite long for the rides as it was school holidays so we missed getting a ride on the scenic railway but the rest was fun. Just needs a bit of a refresh

Not much to do, there are some rides and games but mostly for younger kida, I'd say between ages 5-10. Personally if you're older I mostly went in appreciation of the architecture and the preserved nature of the rides and attractions themselves.Especially the Scenic Rollercoaster 🎢. Which is operated by 2 people that are always standing in the kart while everyone else is strapped in. It's so cool to see an old tradition, skill and machine still being used and passed down for so many generations. The Carousel is also just such a sight to behold 🎠. The amazing history and the sheer beauty of the Carousel is just amazing to see the preservation of. And the history of it too, so cool.I just wish there was some more stuff to do for adults, maybe possibly a tour of the Parks history.

Good place, entry was around $22 per person with one free ride.If you love to have a bit of fun and have few rides, the best is to go unlimited rides with $55 entry.Overall good fun for half a day with kids.

This is cute little amusement park, sort of the Thomas the Tank Engine of family entertainment. It’s pricey for what you get and badly needs a face lift and upgrade. Great spot for little kids and families, birthdays, and social events. Good day out but having to but individual rides sucks! One ride with a $25 ticket? That’s a ripoff, otherwise it’s a safe bet for nice day!
