New in Dragonflight 10.0.7 - HazelNuttyGames Interviews Ion Hazzikostas
HazelNuttyGames sat down for a quick interview with Ion Hazzikostas about what to expect on the Forbidden Reach in Patch 10.0.7.

Highlights

  • There are a ton of things to engage in during your time on the Forbidden Reach.
  • Competitive players will want to make sure to get their Onyx Amulet ring and upgrade it via Zskera Vault for an early advantage in 10.1, though the ring will likely be replaced during the next patch.
  • You can unlock every door in Zskera Vault weekly by getting enough keys for the week, and keys are BoA.
  • You can buy a second Onyx Amulet via the Primordial Stone vendor in the hub to slot different gemstones in and switch your rings out based on the content you are doing, though you can only have one equipped at a time.
  • The BoA catch-up gear tokens start at 385 item level, can be upgraded to 395, and are convertible into Season 1 tier gear via the Revival Catalyst.
  • Rares on the Forbidden Reach have visually distinct ability cues as the team wants to make dangerous mechanics clear in outdoor content to go along with having more engaging, meaningful gameplay.
  • Damaged Curios can drop on the Forbidden Reach for each profession. They can be repaired by you or through work orders to bring back to the island and summon a rare. Killing the rare also provides you with an extra profession knowledge for the week, and the repaired curios can also be purchased on the AH.
  • The team is happy with how Dragonflight is panning out. They want to continue to allow players to engage in the game in different ways.

  1. this patch is a joke.

its basicly "go collect your catch up gear " that you will replace in 2 months with catch up gear of 10.1

its waste of time and resources.

The game isn't for you anymore. It's for the players who don't run M+ and raid

Hm, "go collect gear" and then "go collect gear again" is kind of the core mechanics of any mmorpg. Unless you want to get a piece of gear that you have to upgrade during the expac, with something like artifact power or azerite, you will replace your gear every few weeks.

  1. A bit funny but the big loot this patch; the Onyx ring is described as slightly worse than an heirloom ring for fire mages, and slightly worse than a 363 ring for frost mages -according to Wowhead. Gj Blizzard!

It's something to do and a good way to catch up alts for 10.1 while also utilizing a solid zone created as a starting area.- - - Updated - - -

It is what wowhead says in their guides. Same goes for Evoker btw. It would have to be really massive buffs to move it from worse than an iLvL 183 ring…?

  1. Not sure why I am late to the party, but I just now realized how negative people are on these forums. Like salty as hell. Not sure anything will go right for them as far as WoW is concerned. Like why even play the game just to come out on the other end salty and pissed off.

It might be hard to understand if you're an M+er or a raider, but the outdoor content takes a while to gear up in if you don't do those things, and it caps out at a level that leaves a lot of the content difficult to do on one's own. Catch up gear lets those players get stronger in the content they want to do by doing the content they want to do - as it should be for every aspect of the game - and makes it easier for them to do the content without having to rely on other people happening to be in the zone (hunts, rares, the siege, etc).
