Brilliant dog friendly rooms with an exit to the outside. We had room 1 which was cosy and nice big bed, it just needs better ventilation as its a wet room so it smelt musty sadly. Breakfast amazing (including the waitress), just need some nice salad dressing in the evening to make it perfect. Outside seating is great with heaters and blankets if needed

Food is lovely however the staff are so rude, completely ruined our experience and won’t be returning.The young male waiter was very abrupt and had no time for us which just ruins the experience.As mentioned the food is great but our chips came 20 mins before the rest of our food which isn’t so great, but the service completely outweighs the pros.

My first time at The Royal. My partner and I made an impulsive decision to have lunch out. We moved to Middleton a little while ago and I was yet to try this pub. My partner had a Christmas meal here with friends and raved about it! We were seated at a lovely table with a view of the lane. It was fairly quiet. Busier in bar area. Lovely interior. Very clean and you knew you were in a higher class of establishment. The manager (I think) was super friendly and attentive. Menu really excellent. A little more pricey than your average pub, but this is not your average pub and the quality is superb. I chose the pie of the day (cheese and onion) Absolutely to die for! Gorgeous mash, greens and gravy. I enjoyed every mouth full. Partner had fish, chips, peas and home made tartar sauce. Exceptional. I highly recommend this pub. We have decided it's now our favourite place to eat so far since we moved here. Can't wait to go back maybe for an evening meal this time. I would even book a room here as a little treat, they look so nice (but no bath which I always look for in a stay)Thank you so much for such a lovely lunch! You made us happy 😊 see you again soon.

Very nice, old original building is beautiful, large covered smoking area and outside seating. Staff were really welcoming. Drinks were a little pricey but it was worth it.

I messed up my booking which they resolved quickly, efficiently and without any issue. The rooms are very well appointed, with quality fixtures and fittings. The accessible room was without doubt the best we had ever experienced......it clearly demonstrated that it was well researched and a personal experience of disability had been taken into account. The food was outstanding with a three-course breakfast included in the price. We can strongly recommend this place, it exceeded our expectations in every way. If you want great accommodation, great food and exceptional service, this place is for you.

We stopped off here for some lunch, we had the fish and chips, food was excellent and they have a good range of beers too. Excellent service and in a lovely location too. Totally recommended 👌

Management needs to let staff use discretion!Arrived approx 18:00 to an empty bar with rather loud music. Ordered drinks and whilst they were being poured we looked at the menu, waitress asked for payment and I said can you please give me 2 more minutes to finish looking at the menu and order some food, only to be told sorry no tabs allowed in the bar, I explained I didn't want a tab just a minute or so before ordering. Unfortunately she was having non of it and insisted we paid for the drinks.Two other things, the menu says ask about the pie of the day, response we don't do a pie of the day and the garden menu says to ask about the garden specials, same response we don't do garden specials. Management are seriously lacking in the general running of the establishment.Heysham is lacking restaurants so we ended up ordering, but I very much doubt we will call in there again and will either stop in Lancaster or Morecambe on the 6 or 7 times a year I visit Heysham for the ferry.

Very disappointing food… Had Sunday lunch with friends. All four of us agreed the food was bland and poor quality. The gravy was like water, fatty beef and dry nut roast. The Yorkshire pudding was like cardboard and vegetables weren’t any better… The only thing on the plate which had some flavour was the mashed potato. The roasted beat and charred corn salad didn’t impress much either!The food came out at different times, I put this down to us ordering separately however we ordered straight after each other for the same table so I would have expected it to have arrived together. The place wasn’t busy…!Nobody came to our table to see if our food was ok nor did anyone come to take our plates away. At nearly £18 per person it’s not good enough!The pub itself is lovely and in a beautiful setting. The staff at the bar were friendly and chatty hence the two stars. But it’s the food we came for so I can’t give anymore stars based on the experience today.

Stumbled across this pub in a nice location on holiday.However, we walked in to be greeted "we're busy and tables are all book in the restaurant, you can go through there" a lack of guidance, we made our way (other room) and found a free seat.We did that, and were told then we couldn't sit there as well (room was empty, 30 plus covers) and rudely it was going to be full within minutes. (Not true, and unlikely.)We did what we were told and moved into another empty room, in fact the restaurant wasn't busy either. INVISIBLE BOOKINGS.I can see why it's empty at 7 pm on Friday, We waited 30 minutes with no interest from the waiting staff and left. (£60 -£80 loss)There are not great choices and not much inspiration on the menu, but plates or bowls on other table eating looked big enough.The patio and outside looks great, with an outside bar.

The Inn was just as charming as we hoped. Cozy room, modern bathroom, excellent coffee and tea in the room. Having the water just steps away is great too.We had dinner outside at the pub and it was delicious, as was the breakfast.

We stopped on Sunday to have a bite to eat and I had the Sunday roast. I chose the beef version. It came with Yorkshire pudding, some fresh vegetables, red cabbage, roasted, and mashed potatoes and gravy. The portion size was great. It was huge. Since I’m not used to English food, I felt it was very flavorful other parts with slightly bland. As for the service, we really didn’t have much service we ordered at the bar and at the only time they came to our table was to deliver the food.

Looked around for a hotel for her close to the port and came up with this place so we could have dinner with her before we set off back home to Lincolnshire. Menu was decent, prices reasonable, the host very helpful and cheerful. Food arrived in a reasonable time and was actually delicious. The room she was given was spacious, clean, well fitted out, and reasonable value for money. The building itself is really nice with an interesting history and very thoughtfully restored. They organised a taxi for her the following day, and we were happy to leave her there, knowing she would be safe and well looked after. For those new to the area, there's a really interesting walk up around the back of the pub to St.Patricks chapel and the stone graves and a panoramic view over the whole bay. We will definitely come back next time we are over there. Thanks to staff and owners for a great service.

Lovely restaurant (I didn't visit the hotel) with beautiful views, great food and friendly staff.The beer garden is possibly one of the most beautiful ones in the area,it appeared to be very dog friendly and had nice surroundings.Big area to sit and relax surrounded by greenery, fairy lights and heaters.We will definitely come back here in the summer when exploring Heysham village.☺️

We recently had a great 3 day stay at The Royal Heysham. Very good location with plenty of parking onsite. There’s a park, church and a nice coastal walk to Morecambe very close to the hotel. The quality of the food, selection of drinks and level of customer service was definitely above average and we would happily stay here again.

2nd stay at this excellent hotel. I was in the area on work business. The rooms are spacious, clean and warm. Best shower ever in a hotel. The staff are great. Light hearted, friendly and helpful. I couldn’t make breakfast in the morning so a staff member (Phil) left a bag outside my room door. Filled roll (BLT) crisps an Apple with a Yogurt, and a bottle of Orange juice. Well impressed and will be back
