Kendra Douglas named to WESH 2 Sports team (2024)

Kendra Douglas joins the WESH 2 Sports team. Kendra comes to WESH 2 from NBC affiliate, KSN-TV in Wichita, Kansas where she has served as a sports anchor and reporter for the last 2 years. In Wichita, Kendra covered the Kansas City Chiefs Superbowl Run and the inspirational story of a Wichita State track athlete’s return to competition after almost losing his life in a house fire. Prior to covering sports in Wichita, Kendra worked in Wilmington, North Carolina. She covered Friday Night Hits and the University of North Carolina at Wilmington’s run through the NCAA basketball tournament. A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Kendra received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media and Journalism. A student athlete, she was a member of the track team and competed in the 400-meter race at the ACC Tournament. One of the highlights of Kendra’s career was working for the Olympic News Service at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio where she interviewed track star Usain Bolt after his last competitive race. “We are thrilled that Kendra will be a member of the WESH 2 Sports Team. She is a very talented sports journalists and will be an incredible addition to our newsroom,” said Kirsten Wolff, News Director for WESH 2 and CW18. “She has a passion for sports reporting, telling great stories on TV and posting on digital.” “I’m thrilled to be a part of the WESH 2 Sports Team and excited to continue covering the AAC, the University of Central Florida and sports throughout the state,” said Kendra. “I am looking forward to being a part of the Central Florida sports community.”When not covering sports, Kendra enjoys an occasional run and is excited to live near the beach again. She has always given back to the communities where she has lived. Kendra is a member of the Junior League, a non-profit in Wichita working with families and children. While in college she was a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, where she worked on philanthropic projects serving her community. Kendra grew up in Cary, North Carolina near Raleigh.
