Is everything at Whole Foods clean? ›

We ban 300+ ingredients from all food that we sell, including hydrogenated fats, high-fructose corn syrup and sweeteners such as aspartame, sucralose and saccharin.

What makes our meat different? All meat and poultry in our Meat department must come from animals raised to animal welfare standards, no antibiotics – ever – and no added hormones.

All of the wild-caught seafood we sell is from fisheries certified to meet the Marine Stewardship Council Standard for sustainable fishing or rated either “Green” or “Yellow” by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program. See our Wild-Caught Seafood Standards Overview.
