The SARG Series Test Stand
The SARG Series Test Stand drives, loads and monitors devices under test to provide precision simulation testing of starters, alternators, regulators and generators utilized by ground vehicles, including oil cooled generators found on tanks, self-propelled artillery and personnel tracked vehicles.
Model 1174 has a 100 -12,000 RPM, 55 HP variable speed drive, dual simultaneous 12/24 VDC 1000 Ampere combined resistive loading, simple touch screen HMI for monitoring and control with generator oil cool system capacity of 12 GPM and 200 PSI. The 1174 includes separate HMI’s for simultaneous testing of a starter and a generator, an oscilloscope, automatic set controls for oil temperature by varying flow through oil to air heat exchangers. Special accessories allow scavenging of oil through the face of the direct drive generator under test.
Model 1148A has a 100 -12000 RPM, 32 HP variable speed drive similar to the Model 1174 with 800 Ampere resistive 12/24 VDC loading. Fielded for primarily testing the Abrams Tanks and Paladin Artillery tracked vehicles, accessories are available for testing most air and oil cooled direct and belt driven alternators and generators within its ratings. As a special accessory, the Model 1154 Auxiliary Oil Cooling Unit, allows for extra cooling loops so that different hydraulic mediums such as petroleum based and synthetic based fluids may be used for unit-under-test cooling without purging the system.
Model 1176 has a 100-12000 RPM, 30 HP variable speed drive and 600 Ampere resistive 12/24 loading. It is an improved version of NSN 4910-01-417-1870 AGRS Test Stand fielded by TACOM and National Guard units to test most air-cooled direct drive and pulley drive alternators and generators. Included are individual meters rather than a touch screen, dual voltage testing features, starter testing features and other features similar to the Model 1148A. The stand does not include oil cooling features or an oscilloscope. We often carry this model in stock for quick delivery.
Other Specialty Test Stands
Model 1168 has a 100-12000 RPM, 30 HP variable speed dirve, 650 Ampere resistive 24VDC loading capabilities for direct drive and pulley driven alternators and generators. The stand includes generator air and oil cooling features but does not include starter testing or dual voltage testing features, nor an oscilloscope and requires batteries for the power supply.
Model 1158 is a Commercial Alternator Test Stand (CATS) with a 100 - 4500 RPM, 15 HP variable speed drive, 300 Ampere resistive 12 VDC or 24 VDC capabilities. The stand is used for testing belt driven alternators and generator only. Features include Touch screen HMI.
Model 1161 High Speed Hydraulic Pump Test Stand has a 0 - 12000 RPM, 30 HP variable speed drive, 15 GPM pump for operation at 4000 PSI. Primarily configured for testing Aircraft Hydraulic Pumps such as those utilized on the EA6 Prowler, EA8 Harrier and H60 Blackhawk, accessories can be developed for your specific application within its capabilities. Features include variable pump drive, variable flow, adjustable load pressure and case pressure measurements. HMI is a menu driven touch screen.
Model 1177 Submerged Gear Driven Pump Test Stand is designed for functional testing of oil pumps for the AVDS-1790 Series engines in an oil-submerged tank, the test stand HMI touch screen includes monitoring and controlling temperature, pump speed, and pump output pressure. Other equipment that it is capable of testing includes large motors, AC and DC traction motors, wheel motors, synchronous and induction motors.
